Order a livery

Install your livery

Got your .tga and .mip files? Here’s how to put them on your car with Trading Paints, so the whole grid sees your paint, not just you.

Find it on your iRacing profile page. Your file names update below.

  • car_123456.tgaThe livery itself
  • car_spec_123456.mipThe spec map: shine, reflections, metallic

Five steps

About ten minutes, once. After that, Trading Paints keeps your paint in sync every time you race.

  1. Download Trading Paints

Trading Paints is the free app that syncs custom liveries into iRacing. Get the installer from tradingpaints.com, make a free account, and install it like any other Windows app.

  2. Keep it running while you race

Start Trading Paints before or alongside iRacing. While it runs, it downloads the paints of everyone in your session and uploads yours, so they see your livery too.

  3. Put your files in the paint folder

Place both files in your car’s folder inside the iRacing paint folder, and rename them with your customer ID, exactly as shown at the top of this page.

    Documents\iRacing\paint\<your car folder>\car_123456.tgacar_spec_123456.mip
  4. Let Trading Paints sync it

With the files in place and Trading Paints running, join a session. Trading Paints spots the new paint, uploads it to your showroom and shares it with everyone on track. If it doesn’t show up straight away, restart Trading Paints or rejoin the session.

  5. Check your showroom

Your paints live in your Trading Paints showroom. You can see mine, and download any of my public paints, on my Trading Paints profile.
